Granted, fanon tends to be more complicated than is merited by the small details it's based on. But it's harmless fun for the most part, as long as you don't try to argue it's canon just because it's popular. And if the writers decide to take their favourite parts of it and make it canon, so be it. I'm sure they rejected a great deal of fanon in the process.
It always amuses me when people use the word "pander" in relation to an entertainment product like MLP. If it entertains people, then it serves it's purpose. It's like complaining that a chef is "pandering" to restaurant patrons because he put bacon in something and most people liked the bacon.
It's called "pluralis majestatis" - Luna was using it in the Halloween episode. Just like the polite form in German or Polish is using third singular referring to the people we claim to respect and want to value, like "does teacher agree?" or "there's sir's seat".
Offending people basing on the unverified accusation again? Meh, fuck it. Adult people with good job and own house won't be triggered by a stupid baby living with his parents and making pocket money in a family friend's company anyway.
Also, now that I think about it, I was told I would be a mod for My Little Brony, but I was never told I couldn't moderate comments elsewhere. I still won't though, just because it's simpler if I say I'm mod of just the one section.
