The CanCon rule (Canadian Content) has gone from 20% down to 10 over the years, but thankfully, we've got a lot of talent hoarded up here that sometimes dribbles into the U.S. but primarily keeps the Bieb/Carly/Nickelback play to far less than it could be. (And an aside: I HATE Carly Rae Jepson.) Lately, the CanCon has included Walk Off The Earth, who are totally awesome and legitimately talented. They played for free this summer at a local music festival and the crowd was well over 10 000 people. Do yourself a favour and look them up on YouTube. I recommend either "Red Hands" or "Gang of Rhythm" as a starter song. You won't regret.
Oookay! Yes, that is a pretty good summing-up of the situation. Loved the descriptive language (esp. training-bra clad bosoms and references to FEMA assessing flood damage from the tears--- BRILLIANT!) A few grammar boo-boos, mostly dealing with comma use. As follows: On January 23, 2014 (Insert Comma) young Justin was stopped by police in Mi ccording to police reports (insert comma) he was driv psychology and sociology knowledge (insert comma) it’s not nearly enough tow... Oh, and why we hate nickelback: pretentiously mediocre song writing, yet touted as The Next Big Thing and completely overplayed on commercial radio. Frankly on the song "Photograph", by the time Chad Kroeger sings "Look at this..." I have managed to change the station to avoid the rest of the atrocious rambling. They seem to be settling into two types of song releases: Anthem Rock and Songs for Strippers. Although amongst their early works, I do confess that I like their anti-spousal abuse song "Never Again". Tell anyone and I will have to kill you. Later, darling!
Well, since the job I applied for and interviewed for fell through, sign me up. I seem to have some spare time. Although I'm good on the dental. And if drug benefits are whatever pills you find on the floor, I'm good there, too.
