I'm glad you will have a new computer soon. I hope you have all your files like pictures, videos, mail contacts, bookmarks, etc., saved. I also hope that the study does find lots of that bio chemical in chocolate, red wine, etc. I fear, however, even if is found, the scientists will end up warning us that ingesting too much of these items will cause more harm than good. LOL That's great that the film crew honored their promise--sounds as though you had a delicious evening. Thank you for the begonias, such a lovely shade of red! I'm taking some of the health food with me to work to snack on during my planning time because I get hungry before lunch. Woodee and Prudence wanted to eat all the snacks in one big gulp, but I made them share a dish and saved the other dish full for later. The wine and chocolate is especially appreciated. Tuesday evening one of our two Junior Officers Training Corps instructors collapsed on the softball practice field (he also coached) and could not be revived--massive heart attack. He was a retired US Marine (decorated in Vietnam) and this was his 21st year with us. He was to retire with me in June. There is no one, parent, student, or staff, who didn't love Gunny, and we were just shattered. Yesterday was one of the hardest days I've ever had at work. You know teens and how everything they do is energetic and loud. Well, when they arrived, there was dead silence other than sniffling. While they waited in the cafeteria for the bell to signal going to their first class of the day (usually a situation requiring hearing protection), there was only the sound of sniffling. It stayed that way in the halls as they went to class and continued as we all went outside to the flag pole for a ceremonial lowering of our American flag and our Virginia flag to half mast. I wish a news crew had been there, for that was the highest mark of respect and love that anyone could ever have, and I hope he was looking down and saw that. Here are some orange amaryllis blooms for you and a bag full of milk jug rings for the kittehs.

I suspect the head office has more than a suspicion to go on to order new paint jobs for all the trucks, an expensive undertaking. I hope the official word will come soon so you won't have to agonize over not knowing any longer. Yes, I have irises in the yard, but for some reason the blue ones have disappeared. I don't know what happened to them. I have gotten some from a friend and am sending you a vase of them in memory of your aunt. I can understand the little mistake with the dried salmon. Lots of people eat it dried as a treat. I'm glad you can make up for it with the kittehs by having all those free samples to give them. Woodee and Prudence are most delighted that you have generously shared the bounty with them. They have major turkey breath! I hope your computer will hold out until you get a replacement. I'm sorry winter is rearing its cold head. I think the lack of daylight and the cloudy days are much worse than the cold. I will send you flowers as they bloom. Here are some red roses to add to the irises.

I am very sorry that your computer is not going to make it and that you are in limbo about your job. That is a horrible feeling. I hope you will at least know one way or the other soon and am sending the strongest beams possible that the news will be that there is a new contract. Second hand computers can be very reliable for many years. I know you will love not having to fight to get it to work. Real spring has finally arrived this week, and the AC is on full blast. Brisk breezes when they return will be most appreciated. Woodee set a comfortable pillow in her favorite sun spot and let it get toasty and is sending it to you in a thermal container. Thank you for the gorgeous gerbers! I love looking at them, and the girls know to leave them alone. Here are some fresh purple and white irises in a vase to remind you of warmer weather. Hope you have your new computer soon. Prudence and Woodee send you head bonks and purrs and some freeze dried salmon snacks for the kittehs.

The reunion sounds marvelous! My family has never figured that out, so funerals are the only time we are all together. I detest that. I'm sorry Bella has an aversion to wet paws, and I'm glad you are slowly luring her back outside. We have gotten quite warm, but the rains continue on a regular basis--much more than we need. I wish they would go to the drought areas instead. Many thanks to Tabini for the bonks. I'm going to need them to make it to June if all the remaining weeks drag along as last week did. Trust me, I will find plenty to worry over, but none of it will have a thing to do with education in any form. I'm so ready to be through with that. I will most likely do some volunteer editing for a couple of non-profit organizations I support. Here are some red and yellow tulips in a green vase for you and a huge bunch of very tender, fresh cat nip for Tabini, Fanta, and Bella.

I'm sorry about your computer problems and hope it keep working at least most of the time until your birthday. All my retired friends assure me it will be most wonderful and relaxing. I am a natural born worrier though, so I hope that will be true for me. I will try to relax and enjoy and hope to have Prudence and Woodee around to give me some good paw slaps if I get uptight. Thank you for all the delicious looking and smelling Cocktail Desert. Even mouse bits smell good in that mixture but not good enough for me to try a taste. However, the girls seem interested not only in theirs but in ours too. I'll have to keep a close eye on them until it's time to enjoy the cocktails. I've seen Woodee paw at the refrigerator door and wonder if she actually can open it but is too wise to do it in front of me. I've had things go missing in there more than once. Here is a vase full of lilac blooms, which have just opened. I love that scent! There is a bag full of fuzzy balls for the kittehs and some special scritches for the sweet Tabini--loved the *BONK*! That made my day and made me feel a bit better about dragging back to work tomorrow after a week off. Have a good week!

It is terrible to do housework while away from work, but I always end up with a pile of chores each time I'm off. Retirement worries me because I will probably make myself sick doing all that work. Woodee and Prudence are rattling those TTAs all over the place. I hope a bit of the thrill wears off before tonight, or there will be no sleep for anyone. LOL! They send their thanks for the TTAs and the fresh catnip. They are so high on nip that they can't push the TTAs in a straight line. I don't like the time changes and don't understand why we can't just stay on Mama Nature's time constantly. I have trouble making the adjustment with each change and lose more sleep than ever. I hope you will have some of your Easter Monday for yourself with no chores. The impatiens are gorgeous, and I confess I've had one of the eggs for breakfast. After all, eggs are breakfast food. So what if they happen to be chocolate and filled with liqueur? I'm sending you some dwarf iris (love their shade of blue) and a huge jar of Nutella, which tastes like fudge in a spoon to me. The Girls have added some rainbow shaped catnip toys for your kittehs.
