Been getting ready for meeting with the tax accountant tomorrow afternoon - ugh!! NOt fond of that kind of paperwork at all. We've been doing our 7.5 miles several times a week - how far are you walking now?
Sweet dreemz and talk to you tomorrow. I remember that trip - you posted a pic of you cavorting in the waves :) Great to hear about the walking - that's likely the best PT you can do. Oh that is a project for John. Bryan spent a lot of time in WA putting all of our hard copy pics on the puter inlcuding the very old ones from his Mom's albums from when they were kids. rom year to year the change isn't so obvious so it is best not to look at old pictures :) Lots of OMM and Zen - for awhile anyway til the next crisis LOL xox
Well, it's very small. I think we could call Ferguson a "Stop-by" Just a place where people would stop and get supplies. The Ferguson family sttled here. They were so well respected that at some point in time I believe in the late 1700's Elkville became Ferguson. It's surrounded by the ghostly Blue Ridge mountians. It has ALOT of history ghostly and else. Things from Tom Dooly tp Thumper's Branh, The Brow Moutian lights all the way to Wilksboro and haunted hotels. There are a lot of artists around this place to Lenoir. One is Edith Maire Ferguson Carter. My namesake. She's an artist, one of her daughter's is an artist, I have had several great aunts and uncles who are artists and poets. In one of the old letters from my great Grandfather began one of his letters to Miss Eda, My Dearist friend, (My sister wrote a family history book) began Miss Eda, my dearist friend, it is such a great pleasure that I take pen in hand to embrace this monent to write to you. Isn't that sssoooo romantic? Doncha wish men could write like that?My namesake owns 1500 acers about 4 acers is a village Of over 100 year old Biuldings she rescured. The two most talked about is Whipperwill Acadamy and the Peace Chaple where she rents out to couples who want to be married in the little one room church. Everything is antique. You can rent a kayak to go down the yadkin river if it's not to low or to full to dangerous. She had this one building about 120 years old that she didn't know what to do list. She decided to call it Tom Dooly Cafe. There's an old art gallery. On the other side she raises cows and llamas. I think llamas are spiteful creatures. I told her oce to get Alpaxas. They were more friendly and didn' spit on you. hugz
