I live in Brittany, NW France, in the heart of the countryside. We have lost three of our moggies this year, which has been awful. We now have several cats who were born wild, so it is taking a while for them to get used to us and make this their home... HOWEVER! Cake, who is tiny and black, comes and sits next to me each evening by the wood-burning stove - I'm so pleased!!
