I may be buying tomatoes from the farm stand this year. Woke up tp 4 more inches of snow, Nights still freezing days getting a bit better. If we see 50 its great. Watching lawn care commercials just to see the grass. Never seen cold stay so long. I put out a huge bowl of food every night and every scrap is gone quickly. The two kitties, Gracey and Happy Cat eat first followed by whoever comes along after that. We are so desperate for a decent day.
Same problem alisaoordisy had - full shelter, I think the South is not as proactive on no kill rescue shelters. Just in this relatively small Central OR area, within a little over half hour there are three no kill cat shelters. I sure wish I could help. Your heary is as big as the sky for sure, lubs and hugz
I aw the Dakotas are warmr then us.We are having 40's uring the day nd frezzin at night. So every morning we wake to the thin layer of ice. We need a good rain then sunshine. I dont see this going for quite a while. Glad your pipes are fixed. Im still holding my breath until the thaw.
The snows are over (I hope). Maybe i will be able to cut grass in the fall. I was watching a TV show with a nice grassy yard and I wanted to be there. How are you doing get your pipes fixed. Im afraid of what i will find when everything melts especially my outside faucet thats buried under snow. 40 tomorrow. Thats the first time we broke the freeezing mark in 9 weeks. Beach day.
Good to be garden buddies :) I have planted cilantro in WA but it shoots and goes to seed way too fast. Does not grow like parsey. You have to constantly be planting a few seeds to keep a ready supply. I really like it too so just buy it in the store. I miss my fresh herbs and will be anxious to get those going. What I am ost excited about is to see which perennials will come back - hope most all. And my new bulb garden. Am so ready for Spring - even though we have had a mild winter.
Was thinking of you the other day when I was day dreaming about gardening season which is a ways off here. But never too early to plan :) Rummaged around our convos so I could copy the links to the pepper pruning and tomato shoot removal you sent me last summer so that this year I can do that. No too much I would do different in my greenhouse except shift a few thing around. In WA I could be pkanting the very early stuff like radishes and spinach but here I will have to wait at least another month even with the greenhouse.
