When he showed up he looked to be maybe 3-6 months. Not sure now if he's older or not. So... wouldn't a purr mitzvah be for a boy? And a cats mitzvah for a girl? Either way, they're all fixed, the youngest just turned 3. We have a great vet (they're the only 24/7 emergency vet in town), but they don't do package deals unless you bring in two or more at the same time. They also don't run a bill - you have to pay at time of service. But they did let us know about a credit card that works for vet bills (and human med bills). If you pay off your balance within 6 months there's no interest, so that helps a great deal, especially for extended stays, emergency surgery, etc. Funny thing about Joonyer (said in Sean Connery's accent from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade), he seemed well fed, had a nice coat, and didn't have fleas or worms when Mark found him. But there was no collar and no chip, and canvassing the area wasn't really an option. About the only thing we really need to do is get his vaccinations and the snip. Will do in the coming week before we leave on vacay.
O Hai! Needed to say that in my last message that should've read "a bit of A time recently." Good to hear it's settling down, though. I sure hope it stays that way! ++ Things are OK here, though we've notched up the chaos meter by several degrees. The last Friday in August a little kitteh came wondering into my husband's manufacturing plant. They tried putting him back out a couple times, but he came right back. (Clue No.1) When he climbed up and tried to drink out Mark's coolant tank (like antifreeze) something had to be done. Hell, just being in the shop was dangerous enough! Mark gave some water and put some holes in a box, then taped up the little blond tiger inside. It was only an 90 mins till quitting time when he could Bring.Him.Home. Yeah... we finally got down to 4 cats (we've never meant to have more than 2 at a time) and now we're back to 5, adding a boy to our brood of girls. And what a boy... he's got to be the most rambunctious cat I've ever had and he's the 10th one. Nothing on a desk or counter is safe from being sent to the floor, he tugs any manner of things out with his teeth, makes off with them and destroys them, and he's been playing extremely aggressively with the others. They're starting to try to "teach him a lesson" but it's slow going. Also, he's going to be *big* - huge paws and he's grown tremendously just in the month he's been here. If it weren't for him sleeping in very weird places (and therefore being amusing), there would be little to recommend him. I mean, beautiful boy, good health, likes to be held and petted, purrs... but OMG it's like having a tornado in the house!!! :O I would just ride with it, but we'll be away for 2 weeks in the middle of October and I shutter to think what my awesome cat sitter will have to deal with and what we might come home to... Whew. Yeah, I needed to get that out. Sorry... ++ Too bad Sparky couldn't handle the hot dogs. :( Maybe using a "natural" brand would fix that if you ever have another who likes them, too? All the preservatives and nasty chems couldn't be good for them. Or us. ++ You know, come to think of it, meat flavored tofu really is hypocritical. Never thought of that before. ++ If you're so inclined, tell me more about how you're doing, 'kay? :)
Hi Safrida! It's so good to see you back here! From the convo it sounds like you've had a bit of time recently. Hope that's improving. I love the new Tofu Dog LOL! They're almost as awful as tofu bacon... Honestly, **nothing** is as WRONG as tofu "bacon" LOL!!
