Ohai, Jeff here. Wow, I didn't know Ang Lee also directed "Brokeback Mountain". That guy is really versatile! +++ Btw, I finally watched "Life of Pi" in the cinema today, and yeah it was really good! I think it deserves the Oscars it got (director, score, cinematography, visual effects). The music was especially great, and also the main actor. It's been a VERY long time since I've impressed that much by a movie!

Ohai, Jeff here. About the surprises at this year's Oscars... Christoph Waltz ALREADY got an Oscar as best supp. actor in Inglorious Bastards. And now he got the same award for ANOTHER movie directed by Tarantino! So yeah, I agree, that's a surprise indeed. Maybe the guy is really THAT good...? ++ The biggest surprise for me was the Oscar for Argo as best movie. I like Ben Affleck, and the real story behind the movie is REALLY fascinating. But I can't believe that Argo was the best movie in all of 2012. That decision was political! Just consider the whole Iran situation, and the fact that Michelle Obama herself cangratulated... No, I don't like that Oscar decision ONE BIT. ++ I know it's an American thing, but this is how I see it from my german/european angle. ++ Greets ~ Jeff

Hi, Jeff here. Thanks for the wonderful story about the "Charitos of Fire" :) I had noticed the pun in that Lol of yours, but I didn't know it was based on a real experience! So cool... ++ About Jonesy/Alien: I recently bought a dvd box set with all 4 movies + a bonus dvd. Currently watching my way through it. So that's where that comix came from. And the cat DOES play an important part in the first 2 movies! Although in a slightly diffrent way than I told the story in that comix :) ++ Nice to be friends with you & have you in the book club! Ohai thar, JeffCat here. Thx very muchly for Lady Esmeralda's Oscar predictions! :) Duly noted - may the best one win! ++ I also liked the "wurst" picture award from 1985 very much! Nice reviews there :D You know that "Wurst" as in "Bratwurst" means "sausage" in German - right?! That makes it so much more funny (and delicious)! ++ Thx for liking my ALIEN/JONESY comix - I appreciate it. Jonesy just rocks, I'm currently re-watching the Alien series, and he's just the coolest character in it (besides S. Weaver maybe) :D
