Thank you for the reality check. :) I realized about 3 days in that I had been quite naive in believing at least a few of those people who made me promises would actually come through. Oh well, live and learn. Now almost a month in and we are trying to do our best for these dogs. We haven't given up hope but know that it is going to be a tough journey. ~Hugs, Alisa

They are very good and the timing was perfect as the California peach season had just ended. Made a pie but I'm eating most fresh. Yeah, I'll be happy when I'm completely done with the doctors. At least I can get out to church and my men's group again.
Hi Linda, Sorry, I should have thanked you sooner. Yes we got peaches...oodles of peaches. I love fresh peaches and I've snarfed a bunch of them already. Thank you for the goodies. Well, I'm walking more and more, with a walker, but walking nevertheless. Went to Stanford yesterday (3.5 hours each way) and had the IVC filter removed. Glad to have that done and, hopefully, the last time someone needs to cut me open.

From Sylviag. Catching up on the blog and wanted to congratulate you on a great interview! Too late now to leave a comment there. Wow, that must be an amazing trip around the Grand Canyon. Bryan and I went there a couple of years ago just for a day and no hiking :) I love canyons as evidence of earth's primal forces, and we have also been to Waimea in Kauai, Bryce and Yellowstone and Zion this year. What I really admire is your care of so many animal companions and the ferals. Kudos!
